Rashad is dressed sharp. I wish more fighters would follow suit like that(GSP usually dressess well).

Umm
Because they are professionals.

Yep. I would like to see these guys “dress” for the pressers and occasional interviews and appearances. It just adds something to the sport. Same can be said for any sport for that matter. I know the sponsors want them to wear their stuff, but they can do it at the weigh-ins, etc.
Eliot Marshall: Bader won. Like I said in the episode, I'm not going to make any excuses. It's my job to be able to deal with when somebody's doing that. It's not his job to change up his tactics.

You can call it the “David Loiseau Effect.”

And as much as it sucks to do on a daily basis
Who among us doesn’t feel pimp as hell when you are wearing a suit. It commands a certain respect from whomever you are doing business with.
Hell, I even feel like bridesmades are always on the level if you tuxed out in a wedding.
" Tell me something Steve, How does a guy from Puerto Rico loose a ball in the Sun? "
Dude. Bridesmaids are never on the level. You could be dressed as the fuckin’ Pope.

100% Agreed
Tha Realness
Rashad
GSP
Arlovski
Ortiz
These guys are always looking sharp and professional. They are also very well spoken and if ESPN were to cover these things I would like for all the fighters to pimp some fresh threads so the public can see that these guys are professionals and mean business. Hopefully others will follow suit. No pun intended. :P

Thinking about it
Wow, whats Danas excuse? Nice sweater there, Dana. lol He also shows up on the countdown show interviews all throwed. When I saw the show last night I was like WTF? And while we are at it, Goldberg FTW on how he dresses for PPV’s! Rogans black shirt with pin stripes needs to get burned.

yes..
and they are wearing the clothes their sponsors pay them to wear.
Can I put all $1000 BE bucks on Evensen? Just this once? I see no fucking value anywhere else. Damn you and your evenhanded matchmaking, UFC!

I’ve shown, clearly, that I don’t mind doing that :-)

Pat Berry is probably not to be taken lightly
Brad Ziegler had a scoreless inning streak. Brad Ziegler had not met BJ Upton.
I know nothing of him
Then again, the fact that you said ‘probably’ means you probably don’t know a ton about him, either. I’ll pick the guy with SOME UFC experience over a guy with NONE in most cases – first time jitters are a real factor. Hell, just ask Evensen.

My friend is raving about him, K-1 fighter, and a Kickboxing champion.

Does your friend suck at picking fights?
Just kidding – we’ll see on Saturday.

UFC importing some HWY cans?
It seems like the UFC is bringing in some sacrificial lambs into the HWY division lately. Is it to build up some up and commer that we do not know about? I’m suprised that Evenson is getting another shot after the Kongo affair. I wonder if they still have Josh Hendricks phone number?
" Tell me something Steve, How does a guy from Puerto Rico loose a ball in the Sun? "
Al-Turk isn’t a can, and he’s built to beat someone like Kongo. Kongo’s wrestling is abjectly horrible and I’d throw real money at that line as a result.
Very much agreed...
The best value on this card as far as underdog betting goes is Al-Turk… hands down. At +300, it’s insane not to lay some money on him if you are betting man.
Al-Turk isn’t that great, to be honest. He’s a standard lay-n-prayer at times, but he does have some good ground and pound technique. He can be overwhelming. He does have some jiu-jitsu in his game, and since Kongo sufficiently sucks at nearly every aspect of the ground game, Al-Turk could pull something off here.
Turk is big enough to bullrush Kongo and put him to the floor. If it happens, look for a winning bet out of Turk.

Prevailing theme from today's presser
Was that everyone was very respectful of one another. Nobody make an idiot of themselves or used this as a platform for personal grudges. Even Silva and Rampage kept fairly civil.
Mir and Nog were extremely complementary of each other, I could see them trainingt together in the future.
Rashad and Forest have been friends since the TUF franternity that still existed in season 1 and 2. I’ve seen them sitting together on numberous occasions during PPV events in the crowd. Both are professionals with confidence in their abilities. Yet neither guy has made a single remark about what the other guy cannot do.
Personally I like when the High School drama doesn’t become the issue of the week leading up to the fights. This might be the most professional matchmaking we have seen from Joe Silva in quite some time.
End O Rant
" Tell me something Steve, How does a guy from Puerto Rico loose a ball in the Sun? "
Why was someone asking Big Nog
how a truck hitting him when he was 11 shaped him? This question was posed with one to Mir about his motorcycle accident when he was an adult & champion.
Are you asking why they asked, or are you asking about the truck accident? Nogueira was hit by a truck when he was 11, obviously from the question, put into a coma I believe for a long time. People like to compare that incident to the reason he is such a survivor, such a relentless freak of nature when it comes to the fight game. He can withstand so much punishment, and people liken that to when he was hit by a truck when he was little.

I understand that part,
but I would think that it is much easier to overcome something that happens when you are 11 years old (a child) compared to something that happens when you are twenty something & champion of your division forcing you out of the sport. Not that Nog is not a survivor & in my opinion a great, great man & not to say that a motorcycle accident compares to being put into a coma. Just that children have a far easier time recovering than adults.
Oh yeah, I think the context of both accidents is a bit off when reporters try to compare, definitely.

Yeah, that is all I meant.
I have seen Nog for years in Pride but have never heard from him. He is becoming one of my favorite guys in all MMA.
Dude, I have nightmares
Wandy and Coleman go from wanting to KILL EACH OTHER’S FACES OFF to happy smiley applying shaving cream to one another? WHAT IS UP WITH JAPAN??

I'm all for NOG...
But I’m not counting Mir out. Lots of people expect Nog to run right through Mir, but i don’t see it being that easy. This should make a very interesting match. I still see Nog getting the W. I haven’t been this stoked about a fight card in a long long time. Shit is stacked SON!
Mir, loquacious?
I swear, if you’re a mid tier reporter looking for the next big story looking to become the next Ted Koppel, start with an innocuous question for Mir and then for the next fifteen minutes set your brain on autopilot. The guy is a motormouth that would make Fightlinker.com blush!

Chonan at -225?
Do we think that’s excessive? I think we think that’s way excessive.
Blackburn for the value.

Bah
Chonan’s on a short list of ‘I Beat Anderson Silva’. He and his fights are dead to me as a gambler. He fucks things up too much.

I’m pulling for Rampage but Silva seems like fantastic value at -140.
Yeah, who got the final Death Blow? 'Cause I thought that Hawaiian guy had it comin' to him. - C. K.
