Quote of the Day: Phil Baroni Hits Bottom

"I was at a gas station one night and some dudes were getting hammered and were getting ready to go drive their car...And they were like, 'Hey, dude. Nice entrance.' Yeah. Nice entrance. Not even nice fight.
"That wasn't a great moment. I got 'nice entrance' from some drunk dudes at a gas station once. That's all I got from that (fight on national TV)."
-- Phil Baroni talking about the moment that helped him decide to drop down to 170lbs.

Yeah I don’t see a Baroni return to the UFC happening, but I’m glad he’s fighting and winning and that he has goals. At his peak he was a very dangerous fighter.
I’ve seen Baroni/Alonso, thanks to FSN, and Baroni could have been given a legit L there. The problem is that Olaf Alonso is not any good.

He’s a good example of someone who hasn’t really evolved with the game. Other than decent power in his hands, what weapons does he have?
You wanna know why he has not evolved with his game? Two words: Hammer House
His team is what is holding him back. Everyone from that gym peaked and never got any better. They never evolved. They are all content on being the same fighter in every fight. Baroni is the brawler. Coleman is the straight wrestler. Randelman is another wrestler that likes to brawl.
To be fair, that brunette is pretty stacked.
