Sylvia pumped to fight Ken Shamrock, Shamrock's camp says it's not happening?

“I was supposed to fight Ken Shamrock December 20, but it’s been postponed to February now,” said Sylvia. “He’s a free agent. I was supposed to fight him in a small show called XP3 Promotions. I believe in Texas, but it’s postponed to February now.”

Monte Cox echoed Sylvia’s position that a bout with the 44-year-old Shamrock was in the works.

However, Melissa Ingram, director of media relations for Ken Shamrock Entertainment Inc., was hesitant to describe the fight as being in “preliminary negotiations.”

Shamrock’s manager Ron Donohoo told Sherdog.com on Monday that the bout was not under consideration.

“Our organization was approached some time ago about the prospect of Ken fighting Sylvia, but it was rejected,” Donohoo wrote in an email.

Despite the opposing sides, Sylvia expects to see much action in the coming months, including a fight with Shamrock.

“I love to fight and a fight’s a fight,” said Sylvia. “He’s a Hall of Famer. He’s a legend. To progress your career you always have to fight somebody like that.

“I don’t know if he’s a stepping stone or anything, but he’s been on some of the same cards I’ve been on and he’s been highlighted over me, so I want to let people that I am better than this guy and there’s no reason he should have been highlighted over me.”

There's basically some confusion and miscommmunication or lack theof. Sylvia says not only that he wants to fight him but it's in the works! His justification for fighting by saying he's upset Shamrock was "highlighted over him" and he's a legend and a hall of famer seem pretty desperate and pathetic if you ask me. He has nothing at all to gain in KOing poor old Ken it won't add to his legacy if anything the impact would be negative! What is this guy thinking? Saying this bs as if he's not hated enough! It makes me glad Hughes and Pulver used to make him cry in the old mfs days, I actually felt bad for him when I first heard those stories now I see it was well deserved he really is a doushe bag!

thats a reallyyyyyyy stupid fight.. and for sylvia to say “to progress your career you always have to fight somebody like that.” is just dumb… Who cares if you beat up a guy who’s past his prime and hasn’t won in years..
if you want to further your career by fighting bums, and old guys, then good luck trying to fool people, cause it wont work. I’m glad you’re not in the ufc,.. go fuck yourself.

Calling him a hall of famer and a legend wont help you look less desperate.
