Mike Easton Prepares for Chase Beebe
I went to Camp Springs yesterday to watch some of the training sessions for Mike Easton as he prepares himself for his bantamweight clash with H.I.T. Squad member and former WEC bantamweight champion Chase Beebe. Here's footage (shot on my awful BlackBerry Storm) of Easton shadowboxing. As you can see, Easton's a fantastic athlete with incredible hand speed and combinations. For sure, Beebe is by far the toughest test of his career, but this fight is also the opportunity for Easton to catapult himself into the upper echelon of the bantamweight division. By the way, Easton's lone loss was the result of a kick he blocked that immediately broke his arm. The elbow on that arm is now encased in pure titanium. So yeah, his ground and pound isn't bad either.
Just a few pics after the jump. Again, the quality isn't great, but what good is a blog if you can't post pics from a phone camera?

"Awful Blackberry Storm"
Do you mean that the video quality is relatively awful when shot on a Blackberry Storm or do you not like the device at all?
I’m in the market (in a few months) and I’m very interested in actual experiences from real life people.
Oh, and the fight gives me a hard on, yadda yadda nothing I haven’t said before.
Well, I have ape-sized thumbs and love to write emails on my phone, so it’s a bad spot for me. The Internet is great and the touch scree features are fun, but I think the BlackBerry Bold is better. The problem? That’s only a phone you can get with AT&T and I have Verizon. I think Verizon service is better in DC than AT&T, so I’m stuck.
That’s surprising. I was in Northern Virginia last night (which I realize is not DC but quite close) and I had mediocre service on my Verizon phone (which is a ridiculously busted up LG Voyager in case anyone cares).
In Baltimore, Verizon service is great, and I had poor results with AT&T back before they merged with Cingular and became AT&T again. But my hands are not ape-ish, so I can probably get by just fine with the touch pad keyboard.
Tickets
The event website says that tickets were supposed to go on sale on December 15, 2008, but they’re arent up on ticketmaster yet. Any idea when to expect them to go on sale?
I will also renew my recommendation that BE do a reader contest for some free tix!
