gary absolutely should not be fighting any more.
this fight never should have happened.
gary is 0-14-1 in his last 15 fights across kickboxing/MMA. 0-7 this year. KO’d or TKO’d 13 times in kickboxing, 6 times in MMA. he has obviously deteriorated skills and is slurring badly.
it’s really depressing.

I’ve heard the rumour that he’s having financial trouble, which is why he keeps taking fights. Puts the importance of long-term financial planning in perspective, if it’s true.

0-14?
No way. I can not believe that…. He seriously has to be in financial trouble to keep getting fights

Sad but true.
Wikipedia has the most thorough record for him.

Damn this is sad.
Why didn’t the ref stop the fight earlier..,

No doubt, did this fight take place in 14th century Bavaria?? Goodridge is obviously too stupid for his own good. That’s why the Refs are there in the first place, to protect the fighters, especially those who confuse pride with stupidity. This “referee” should be ashamed of himself.

don’t forget about goodridge’s corner— they’re at least as responsible.

Agreed, at some point they should have had the common sense to say " Look Gary, I know you’re a proud fighter, but we’re stopping this, cause we care about you, and don’t want to see you ten years from now when you’re shaking like a leaf and can barely complete a sentence."

That is just sad to watch.....
The guy needs money that bad to keep getting brain damaged and beaten every time out. He has to DESPERATELY need money. But, how can this be the answer??? The hospital bill got to be more than he made in multiple fights.
How do let they fights like that happen?? Are the overseas fight commissions that blind?? I do not know about fight politics in Japan or how or even if a regulatory agency regulates fights

California State Athletic Commission
allowed Gary to fight at Affliction Banned in July so he must have past their physical to get a license in California.

On another note....
I think that he may already have serious mental health issues. The last fight, th eone he simply just walked out of in teh 2nd round…..the first 2 or 3 minutes of the fight Gary just stood in front of his opponent(a fat, never heard of guy) and took shots to his face. He didnt throw more than a handful of puches or kicks the entire round.
He did kind of cover up. But, it was sad to watch. He just kind of put his hands over his face and let his opponent puch him repeatedly to he was noticeably gassed…..and that was the only reprive. Gary would get a little break, then the onslaught would continue.
How much is he getting paid?? What kind of friends or managements is letting this guy take fights?? There has to be somethign else for the guy top do for money

It looked to me like he wanted to be KO`d just so he could get out of there. To allow your self to get submitted and tyhen tap is one thing, but KO`d? Not a good idea unless your Diamond Dave Kaplan.
