That is the worst thing I’ve ever seen.

It looks like he’s getting sucked into Jumanji.

Holy shit.

Okay the picture was bad. The video was so much worse. That’s just fucked.

by SamCupitt on Dec 11, 2008 7:30 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I don’t know if its so bad or nasty. I think it’s more funny looking more than anything else. I’m not saying the situation is funny, oh hell no. But the way his leg looks is more funny than nasty.

Hill is so thin, he shouldn’t be fighting like that. He has no meat on them bones to protect himself from a checked kick. That or he needs to drink some milk. Lots of milk.

Its kind of like a, “laughing out loud at your first open casket funeral” type of thing. I have seen this before and I still need to turn my head and look confused when i see it now.

Yeah man. I mean, it was sort of a freakish accident, but you have to figure that kind of weight at 6’4" attributed to the break, or at least didn’t do anything to prevent it. I figure Corey is gonna have to put on some muscle mass and fight at a higher weight class. His height and reach can still be quite an advantage even if he fought at welterweight or something.

by pud333 on Dec 11, 2008 1:56 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

That picture so ridiculously bad that it looks photoshopped.

I’ll go ahead and opt out of watching the video.

by Brett Jones on Dec 11, 2008 8:05 AM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

You shan’t regret it.

The way it bends around Hartts leg and then he stands on it and it bends again and then he falls. The whole time Joe Rogan is screaming at the top of his lungs, “STOP THE FIGHT! STOP THE FIGHT!”.

by SamCupitt on Dec 11, 2008 8:35 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Thatz nasty.. i dont think i wanna watch the video either.

That is worse then the faces of death kickboxing accident. So last night we had a broken arm and a nasty broken leg. Wow.

That is sick,

reminds of some of the broken legs we have seen in football. Bad luck man

Gotta think his career is ova

According to CBSSport, he’ll be out 12 – 18 months.

by mythbuster on Dec 11, 2008 10:18 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Sure, but will he be the same? He was a marginal fighter at best before the injury..

by lbk on Dec 11, 2008 10:30 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Oh I agree with you. I can’t imagine him ever fighting seriously again. I was just adding to your post :)

by mythbuster on Dec 11, 2008 10:31 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

too early for me.. ;)

Landis-Jons came back from a similar, horrific injury about a year ago… I seem to recall his break being described as the bone “disintigrating”. So you never know.

Can we even call him marginal? Didnt he get into TUF with 0 fights?

by Discman2 on Dec 11, 2008 12:26 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

would you be comfortable throwing a leg kick after this? The brain will forget though. Three cheers for Shock! Go Shock! Go Shock! Go Shock!

I have to add, this is what happenes when you fight at 6’4" 155lbs.

by lbk on Dec 11, 2008 9:47 AM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yeah..put some meat around those bones to cushion the blows.

by cyph on Dec 11, 2008 10:49 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i agree...

This would have never happened if he wasn’t so skinny, when he was training with Miletich I couldn’t believe how tiny he was. Looked like a strong wind would blow him over.

by ANance on Dec 11, 2008 10:56 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

since i'm not gonna watch the clip...

… how was he looking in the first round?

by woooburn on Dec 11, 2008 10:55 AM EST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

His take downs looked good but,

Once Corey would take him down he couldn’t do anything…same old song and dance for Corey.

by ANance on Dec 11, 2008 10:58 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Why he is bothering with takedowns...

…I don’t know. Use the length and fight tall. Jab, jab, jab and then start following it with a straight behind it. Then again he was standing when the leg snapped…so I guess I’m wrong that it is where he should keep it.

No kicks for Corey Hill

If he ever wants to fight again, he doesn’t need to throw kicks. He has such a tremendous reach advantage he could punish any kicks that come his way with a right and outbox anyone at range if he just focuses on that.

If he chooses never to fight again…..I would not blame him. That loss has got to be shocking.

by zeroword on Dec 11, 2008 11:35 AM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

or use more front kicks with the jabs...

Watching him fight reminds me of fighting my lil bro…I can take him down at will but then again once i get him down i can’t punch him so i just lay there like Corey does lol

by ANance on Dec 11, 2008 1:23 PM EST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

the whole fight is available in UFC.com
i’d make a fanshot of it, but i dont know how to embed that video.. So there, I just wanted to tell those who want to see it..

It already says that at the top of the page ;)

People are opting out of watching it because the end is kind of brutal.

I’m new to the whole MMA scene but I’m gonna guess that a leg isn’t supposed to bend like that.

Go Avs! Let's get some goals!

I almost wrote, “I’m going to go out on a limb and say that a leg…” but I held back. Well, until now.

In all seriousness, I certainly hope he’s able to fully recover. And gain some weight.
