This is a coup for the UWC
Beebe is no joke, and I think it’s fucking fantastic (as a single MMA org world domination nuthugger) that a guy like him can find a good paycheck on a regional card. He will provide a great challenge for up and comers and put on a good show. Congrats are in order for the UWC (and Luke, by extension). This will be a fun fight to cover, assuming Easton has some game (video links, please)

So wait?
Your “Exclusive” is a press release? Are they releasign exclusive press releases now? That is a good business to get into. Maybe they will release slightly different emails to sherdog and mma weekly and 5 oz of pain so everyone can have an exclusive!

Yes, everyone but your sorry ass excuse for a website.
And the press release hasn’t been distributed yet, you dumb fuck. That’s why I’m posting it.

… I thought namecalling was forbidden around here.
:)
Just kidding, Luke. It seems pretty warranted in this case.

APOLOGIES TO EVERYONE
I don’t like resorting to language like that, but that motherfucker deserves it and more.

Come on, now. I’ve never sold any merchandise on this site either for BE or anyone else. Be fair.

Also...
this is obviously a big fight for a “regional card” if this fight were made for Strikeforce or Adrenaline MMA it would get the same announcement. This happens to be something that Luke can confirm early…hence it is an exclusive at this point. Once the press release goes out then it isn’t…but there is nothing that is not exclusive about this story right now.

I’d strongly consider buying some sweet Bloody Elbow merchandise, actually. You could do up some shirts with skulls and tophats being crushed by a bloody skeletal elbow. Of course Affliction has probably already made that shirt …

I want to make gear that Zuffa won’t ban, right?
The only idea I’ve ever really toyed with is making gi patches that run down the elbow onto the forearm that have some sort of blood and our URL. I just never followed through.

Isn’t it exclusive because nobody else can confirm it yet. Only BE can — hence an “exclusive” confirmation.
Pretty much every “exclusive” eventually becomes common/public knowledge — but at some point it is exclusive content.
Awesome news, Luke. That should be an awesome fight, and an awesome get for UWC.

A new study, set for publication in the December issue of the journal Psychological Science, reveals that when a person feels physically clean, he or she cuts others more moral slack.

What’s interesting is that a win for Easton would probably (finally) put him in the mix to enter the WEC, but then he obviously means a lot more to UWC.
Based on the previously posted article and Beebe’s involvement in the card, it sure seems that the UWC does have a good working relationship with ZUFFA, so I could see UWC allowing Easton to grow his personal brand nationally, which is a win-win for Easton and UWC. Of course, that’s assuming Easton has a clause in his contract to make him exclusive to UWC should he win the title.
But this is a great card beyond just the main event. Local GREAT man, Antwain Britt will fight in the co-main event, and Ron Stallings, another Lloyd Irvin fighter (and recipient of the sickest KO I’ve ever seen) is fighting Herbert Whisper Gorilla Goodman, the former Green Bay Packers Running Back who put on a good show at MMAC last year.
I can’t wait for this show!

Yeah guys...
I’ll take the blame on this one. Nate has a very busy “real world” schedule right now and my personal laptop is a paperweight until Toshiba sends me a new AC adaptor. They were supposed to have it in my hands last Tuesday but when I called Saturday after not getting it they said it got “lost in the shuffle” and never went out. So I’m stuck using my work laptop until it gets here…the problem with that being that I have to be connected to my work network most of the time which means limited internet access.
So as Nate’s tapped Meta guy while he was dealing with the real world I was unable to get my stuff together to finish it all because Toshiba makes shitty products.

Has Beebe been released by the WEC or is Zuffa allowing him to fight outside the WEC. That’d be a Zuffa 1st that I know of.

ZUFFA has allowed several WEC guys to have fights outside of the organization, to tune up or what not. Rani Yahya and Cub Swanson, for example. I asked Luke about it, and he told me that he feels this is a one-off fight for Beebe, but did note that UWC is prepared to promote Beebe as their champion should he defeat Easton for the Bantamweight title.

Nothing negative to say
Being less than a couple hours from GMU, I hope to make it to this card. Easton was really impressive in his last UWC event. Even thought the decision didn’t go his way, he totally shut down a flashy fighter. It will be a great test for both him and Beebe. I can’t wait to hear more match-ups. Although, I’ll do my best to drive up to Fairfas, I hope it’s streaming on Sherdog.

Tickets
Any idea when tickets will go on sale? Also, are you planning on doing and “reader contests” to grab a few free seats?
