Rosholt’s obviously the favorite but I like Osterneck’s chances, he’s got some skills where Jake has gaps. It’ll come down to how well Osterneck can defend himself on the ground early.

Who is the matchmaker for WEC?

This is a matchup between 2 of the TOP up and coming fighters in the185LB division. I’m a bit shocked that they paired up Jake vs Nissen. This should be a great fight and with both guys having good ground skills.

I really think Jakes advantage will be grappling and taking it to the mat. Osterneck has better striking skills at this point in his carreer, but I like Jake to take control of this fight with his wrestling ability and finish this fight by GnP in the 2nd round.

I'm with you.

Rosholt has holes in his game, but he is so explosive that he can paint over that by pressure, pressure and more pressure

Rosholt should have holes in his game. The man is 26 and just got into MMA only a year ago. He’s got the backround to be succesful in this sport and with grinding it out on his stand up he should improve leaps and bounds in this sport. If Josh Koscheck can become a decent striker I think Jake will be just fine.

don't get me wrong...

I’m not saying it as a bad thing. He has holes like any young fighter. But I think his natural gifts and wrestling talent will allow him to work over that.

We are both on the same page then Brent. Jake has natural talent that you can’t teach. He’s a sick athlete and will only get better with time, training and more fights.

I don’t argue with Jake’s potential, I’m just talking about this fight. Osterneck is dangerous in aspects of the game where Rosholt is possibly weak.

There isn’t gonna be anymore 185 lb division in the WEC. This is a fight to earn a place on an upcoming UFC card.

You will see both Rosholt and Osterneck in the UFC when they make the transition next year.

Rosholt by not-Techno-Metallica-song.

People are exaggerating Osterneck’s abilities. Rosholt should finish him in the second, if not the first.
