Quote of the Day: Quinton "Rampage" Jackson
"I remember my stomach feeling like I swallowed a brick," Jackson recalled in 2007. "I still, to this day, think that somebody poisoned my room service or something like that. I was happy that it was my biggest paycheck to date, but I know Pride brought me there to lose. They made me lose all this weight when Pride didn’t even have weight classes. I knew there was no way I could win. But I knew I couldn’t turn back and not fight. I said, ‘I’ve got to go out there and put on the best show possible and do my best so I could at least make a name for myself and Pride would have me back.’-- Rampage Jackson talks to UFC.com about his seven defining moments of his career and how Pride officials made sure he lost his debut fight in Japan against Sakuraba.

Things like this are why I don’t take anything Rampage says very seriously.

true that! The food poising sounds like garbage but forcing him to lose weight to add on the chances of him losing sounds true.

Really?
This was the guy who at the time was talking about how much he loved PRIDE, what a great organization it was and how he was always making so much money.
Now he just tries to find any way to sneak in some other half baked excuse for losing and some way of blaming “shady PRIDE officials” for anything he can.

I’ve never met anyone who didn’t badmouth their last boss.

If Rampage speaks the truth it wouldn’t surprise me. Love a lot of the fights the japanese put on… hate all the “other” stuff that goes along with it.
Also wouldn’t surprise me one bit of Rampage is just making excuses. You can never tell with that dude

Jackson has proven to be a whiny little baby who has nothing but excuse after excuse anytime he loses, or runs amok on an LA freeway. Most fighters at least have the honor and respect to say, “tonight the other guy was the better fighter”, but Jackson always seems to come up with some lame excuse every time he loses.

Umm...
I suppose you never saw Jackson vs. “Ninja” Rua. Where the judges gave the fight to Jackson, but Jackson didn’t feel as if he won the fight and invited Rua to come back to the ring to take this winner’s trophy?
