Quote of the Day: Ariel Helwani

To be honest, the last few days have been pretty sad for me. I really felt like we were building something special over there and then it all pretty much went up in smoke. Doing those interviews at AKA and the Strikeforce event (AFTER finding out the bad news) was pretty hard, but, hey, at least we got some good interviews!

The last few months have been like living a dream for me. Getting to cover the sport I love so much...I couldn't have asked for anything more. I just hope it can continue.

Here's hoping this isn't the last you hear of me!

Again, thanks so much...really.

the man famous for provoking the legendary “how taste my pee pee” quote, will be out of a job? TRAVESTY!

he seemed to be a natural at one on one interviews. maybe he’ll get picked up by inside mma, or mma live in a similar capacity.

He does have big cojones. Some of the questions he asked, ala the Arlovski interview would have melted mere mortal men.
It’s a shame, MMARated had some good interviews and such but the site itself was sort of terrible. They layout, the lack of moderation.
Hopefully he gets a gig doing interviews for HDNet, ESPN.. I’d recommend Fight Network (because god knows they need more skilled interviews/front-men) but that channel will be lucky to survive another year itself.

I’ve just gotten back into town so I haven’t been following this. What happened to MMARated? Lack of funding? I noticed new commercials on there last time I visited. Agreed, they had lots of high quality videos with good questions asked.

DIdnt realize running a site cost so much money......

I know they spent it. They always have the latest breaking news. Hell, they flew Ariel down to AKA the minute that crap started with Fitch and them. I really liked that site. I used to visit many sites…Now I only visit 3 sites daily.

They definitely spent the money on interviews, event coverage, etc, etc…. Every major event, you knew that Ariel at MMArated would be there and have a handful of interviews.

Oh, well, down to 2. That means you guys at BE here are gonna get a lot more traffic.

Hate to see it go

They ran a good site and were consistent with great interviews.
