Im racking my brain trying to figure out who will take the KOS vs Yoshida fight. It seems the general consensus I have come across is Yoshida is the favorite. I have been watching alot of footage of Yoshida and he looks impressive. The only hole in his game I have noticed is his take down defense. I have a feeling KOS can take him down at will. The question is can Yoshida catch KOS in a submission from the bottom? Maybe I'm totally off and Yoshida will judo throw him around, but I have a feeling KOS will be able to control him. I don't care for the Swick and Goulet matchup at all but it should be a good test to see if we can see quick get a quick KO. He needs to make a impact badly at welterweight and a highlight reel KO could really get some attention even though it is against Goulet. After this fight I would like to see him face Dustin Hazelett to see where he really stands in the division. I have a feeling they may feed him a fight against Pete Sell though. I'm excited to see Cantwell in the UFC but I have no clue about his opponent. I couldn't find any footage of him. I like what I have seen from cantwell, but I wonder if he would be better suited for middleweight? I think fight of the night will go to Edgar vs Wiman. I think Wiman will pull another upset submission in this one. I cant wait to see it. The undercard sucks but who really cares. I know the main card looks lackluster also but most of the time its cards like these that usually have the best fights. What does everyone else think?

Goulet is a lot tougher than you give him credit for. Swick should take the fight but it is by no means a “gimme.” They’re not going to match Swick up with Drago next either. Swick is on the fast track to title contention, a matchup with Hazelett sounds likely, or even against someone like Diego or Karo.
I agree that Edgar v. Wiman has potential for fight of the night. That fight is really going to solidify one of those guys as a top contender. Edgar already makes a very good case for it but with the roll Wiman has been on, a victory would put him up there too.

I don't know
about Yoshida being favored. Kos has way underrated striking and his takedowns are some of the best at WW. I like Yoshida…and I think he’ll be somewhat like Karo, always a step away from title contention. But he’s gonna need something extra to beat Kos.
And Edgar v. Wiman should be very good, but I think Frankie grinds out another exciting win.
It looks like an average UFN to me. But hopefully it comes through and delivers some great fights.

I honestly dont think Goulet will make it out of the first round. I’m not trying to discredit him, I just think swick will have his way with him and knock him out of the UFC. I hope the UFC lets Swick fight a contender like Diego or Karo. Karo is fighting the Stun gun, so it would make sense for Diego. Then again I think Diego will get to fight Thiago since Penn will be fighting GSP. Hazelett vs Swick deff makes sense to weed out pretender or contender of the division. Drago can maybe slug it out against the winner of Lytle vs Davis???

I like Drago v. the Lytle/Davis winner. Davis is still a top contender and Lytle is a tough matchup for anyone but with the way this contender/title mess is being sorted out in the division, it’s going to be a while before either guy gets their crack at a contender again. In the meantime, they need to be put in exciting fights that will maximize entertainment value and raise the stock of the winner.
Drago has always had untapped potential and simply couldn’t capture the magic of his UFC debut in subsequent fights. With a new training outlook and a drop in weight, the time may be right for Drago to climb the ladder. The Lytle/Davis winner needs an opponent who will slug it out and put on a barn burner of a fight. Drago fits that description. Also, the winner of such a fight would be put in a position to fight any of the welterweight division’s elite.

I don’t care for Josh but I think he takes the fight soundly.
And I have no personal interest in either Goulet or Swick.
I’m eager to see Cantwell in the UFC, also. Not because I think he’s particularly gifted, but just as a spokesman for the WEC and being able to see how he fares.
Wanting Tim to win…we’ll see what happens.
I know Edgar and Maynard are nowhere near the same fighter but I’m still deathly terrified of this being a repeat if Frankie ever gets scared and starts to play cautious.
Picking Luigi but I don’t feel Brodie is exactly a sure loss, either. However, looking at his past fights I have no idea why I feel so familiar with him…weird.
Bruno/Rees? Who fucking knows.
Ben by name recognition. Insignificant.
Hill’s fight is interesting only in the respect that we get to see how he’s improved. I’d still pick anyone over him.
Eddie by underappreciation.

Frankie Edgar by slow death. And I always love watching Luigi fight.
Looking forward to it.

I think Edgar is way too small for 155..
and if he loses this fight will probable take some fights at 145 in the WEC.
I also think Cantwell is WAY too small for 205. He is young and has some weapons. But..he is fairly one dimensional in his game..striking only pretty much. Actually very similar to Brian Stann.
The Kos/Yoshida fight should be interesting. I haven’t seen enough of Yoshida to make a prediction, but wonder what kind of toll Kos fighting 2 fights back to back will have on him.

Edgar would be a beast at 145, be nice to actually see him not always be outsized.

The money in the UFC is too good. Plus, he is still one of the better LWs in the UFC. He’ll need to lose a bunch to seriously consider being a FW.

I don’t know about that. I think a loss in this fight would make a lot of sense for a drop. Every fighter wants to be at the top of Frank Edgar definitely has the tools to reach that goal. So far, with the exception of Maynard, he has been able to more than hold his own against top fighters at lightweight. Hermes Franca, Spencer Fisher, and Tyson Griffin are all perennial title contenders and Edgar has dispatched all of them. A loss to Wiman would seriously hinder his chances for a shot at lightweight gold and a drop to the WEC would put him within one fight of a title shot. Brown, Faber, Garcia, and Pulver are the names to beat and I think Edgar would provide a very tough matchup for any of those guys.

You completley just took the words out of my mouth regarding Edgar. He held his own with a great wrestler in Tyson Griffin and after the Maynard fight I thought maybe He was to small for the division. The the fight against Franca changed my mind. I was surprised how easily he was able to control him the whole fight. I think he will be able to control Wiman also, the question is can Wiman catch a sneaky sub again? Either way I always like to see Edgar fight.
