Rampage Jackson's Return
There has been so much going on lately that I haven't heard a thing about Quinton Jackson's criminal trial. Either way, it looks to be full steam ahead for him as he heads into a December fight with Wanderlei Silva. Here is a piece from the Telegraph with commentary from Ricky Hatton's conditioning coach, who now works with Jackson:
Trainer/manager Anthony McGann said: "You will never have seen the Rampage you're going to see at UFC 92. This is Rampage who has been training with top sparring partners and top experts in all the various fields, top conditioners, top strength and diet experts like Kerry Kayes. This is the Rampage who is going to win back his UFC Title and defend it for years."
I am really stoked to see this fight. To me, it's the true main event of the December PPV.
Rampage Jackson's new manager Anthony Mcgann talks with Throwdown TV about signing Quinton jackson and representing Michael Bisping.

Wanderlai Silva and Thiago Silva are the only UFC fighters who scare me through the TV when they are in the zone.
OH MY GOD! MICHAEL JACKSON IS BESIDE WANDY!!! hahahaha.

Huh? Pulver v. Garcia is not even remotely in the same league as Silva v. Jackson Part 3.
If you haven’t seen them, go to Bestbuy and find Pride 24-28… it has both Silva v. Jackson fights. Hell, I rewatched it tonight just cause.. GREAT STUFF. The best knockout I’ve ever seen, that’s for sure. The two of them make for really exciting fights. And no, Jackson did not get his ass handed to him. In round 1 of part 2, Jackson may well have finished Silva if he hadn’t been saved by the bell.
There’s a reason why people still get pumped about those fights even though they were in Japan 5 years ago.
Why do you think it's the true main event?
I’m not saying it won’t be a great fight or that I am not looking forward to it but this fight is not the true main event, nor does it feel like it should be. Rampage got his ass handed to him twice already by Silva. To me this feels like Nog/Herring at UFC 73. But then again Nog almost got beat by Herring in that fight…
I know Rampage is a new fighter since he last faced Silva and its like a whole new fight but I still see Silva KOing Rampage. And you know, if Rampage wins in a dominant fashion I will gladly eat my words, because this is going to be one hell of a fight. i really don’t care who wins, I just want to see a great fight.
Because Nog-Mir is kind of a sham fight, and I just can’t get that excited for Forrest-Rashad.
This fight will be a complete war between two superstars that hate each other’s guts. I don’t think Silva has much of a chance striking with Jackson in 2008, but we’ll see.

THANK YOU
Nog- Mir IS a sham… And I’m the same as you with Forrest Rashad… I feel Rampage won the first fight anyways and got robbed to make the more marketable fighter champ so I’m not that hyped for Griffen. I’m not Shad fan either, but I can’t say he doesn’t deserve a title shot because he’s undefeated and he KO’d chuck… But at the same time it doesn’t feel like he deserves one because he’s undefeated against guys like Sean Salmon and has a lucky draw against Tito.
Rampage Wand 3 is the only bout i’m excited about. (Nog can make the card better by going Babalu on Mir and choking his cocky ass unconscious)
to make the more marketable fighter champ? hahahahahahhaa. okay. :)

I’m excited for all three of these fights. Either Evans is for real or he got lucky against Chuck, either Forrest can finish a fight or he can’t, and either Wandy can knock Rampage through the cage like he did the ropes or he cannot.
Great, great card.

I don't understand the Nog-Mir hatred
They had to figure out a tournament style for the interim belt, and before Randy came back, Mir was clearly in line for a title shot (his first since his horrific accident, by the way) after beating Brock. That win looks more impressive each and every day, fluke or not. The match also has a whole new level of intrigue, because the winner will fight the new champ to unify the belt.
What makes it a ‘sham’ other than the (in my view, misguided) perception that Frank Mir sucks?

Yep... this would be the true main event for me as well.
Wanderlei vs anyone is main event material… but the history leading into this fight makes it all the more special.
The other two might be title fights but this is the purest MMA fight on the the UFC 92 card.
I think the Evans-Forrest fight will be a great one as well though. Two guys who are very hard to beat.
The only fight I’m not excited about is the Nog-Mir fight. a) Because of the Interim bullshit. b) because I just don’t care for Frank Mir.

Wanderlai by murder and destruction in the 1st. He’s just one of those guys that has Rampage’s number. He owns him. I don’t see Rampage suddenly figuring out how to beat Silva especially with his mental state. And you can’t tell me Rampage is fully recovered from that chaotic crap that happened months ago. That s hit is a clear indication he is a troubled guy. A few months of training aint gonna help that IMO.
Easy to predict fights...sort of
Nog/Mir- please…. if fedor didnt exist we’d be talking about Nog like we do Fedor. Mir is never in great shape and has a retarded ego. always talkin about his ‘athletic’ skills and getting involved in that conversation on TUF about Nog’s ‘basic’ jujitsu.
Nog by sub rnd 2
Silva/Page…are you kidding me? Page fighting a guy that KO’d him twice is a major mental disadvantage…as is coming off a lack-luster performance….as is having a mental breakdown… and his camp he’s training with..wolf’s lair, cmon?!
Mark my words, Silva by decision. Page will be afraid to engage and lockup, he’ll keep his distance, and hope for a homerun KO which wont come. I’d love to see Silva KO him but I havent seen any knees from him in a year or so….
Griffen/Evans…that’s the hard one. Evans hits harder, has better kicks, better wrestling….. but this one comes down to chin and heart and they both got a crapload of heart. I guess Evans will win, but hard to call. Whoever brings in the better training partners should win.
I want Mir to lose based on the douchebaggery he’s displayed on this season of TUF. He seemed like a nice guy when he’s commentating or what have you but behind closed doors the guys is a huge douche bag.
I realllly don’t want Mir to win. Or Evans for that matter. Nog being champ brings up more interesting matches and having Griffin as champ also brings in better title fights. If Evans wins…. Ugh….
Yeah. If Evans wins, he clearly deserves the title. I think his style would make life shitty for all contenders also.

I think Evans would be in serious trouble against Jackson.

Agreed.
Rampage would give Evans fits. Evans is pretty good at counter-fighting, though, so if he beats Forrest he could sit atop the hill for awhile.
