BIG News From HDNet Fights Including 2009 Schedule!
via hdnetfights.com
The 2009 HDNet Figts schedule will be released in a few days. It will have information on the DREAM contractual situation, K-1 Dynamite, or even the K-1 GPs. I have some pretty good rumors for a big 2009 for MMA.
- K-1 is working on their FW Tourney for 2009 with Kid.
- Sengoku is working on their HW Tourney for 2009.
- Bellator Fighting Championships on ESPND is getting ready for their tourneys in 2009 with some pretty well known names like Eddie Alvarez, Jorge Masdival, War Machine, and rumored Paulo Fihlo, Hector Lombard, and Wilson Reis.
- Strikeforce is set to make the NBC Primetime Debut early in 2009 in a card that features Cung Le and perhaps Gina Carano. Cung Le vs Frank Shamrock II and Gina Carano vs Cyborg could be used as the headliners.

Hopefully they announce that they are airing Sengoku in 2009 and that they are planning on airing K-1 Field’s Dynamite. And if they can get K-1, WOW

Yeah, I am not sure where Sengoku stands, in terms of US TV.
They are still trying to get their stuff together to get on TV in Japan.

There was once news that Sengoku was working out a deal with FSN, but I don’t think that ever materialized.

Haven’t heard that one yet, but if it is true, it would be great.
Not sure if that means they would be renewing their DREAM deal then.
Hopefully they are able to renew their DREAM deal and show Sengoku.
I think people would erupt if they announced that.

How quaint.

Affliction was not run by a felon. Well, at least not Affliction entertainment. beard had nothing to do with the MMA promotion. He was only involved in the clothing aspect of Affliction.

All true, but still a pretty sad state of affairs. For a guy “not involved” in Affliction Entertainment, it was his comments about the MMA side of the business that helped to force Randy out. Officially or unofficially, he was part of the process. The good news about MMA blowing up and partnering with mainstream, boss players is that it is forcing out scumbags like Beard as the light of exposure hits the roaches.

They do have a deal with Comcast.
Comcast has to get off their lazy a$$ and distribute it to its customers now.
Dish, DirectTV, Fios, Time Warner, and a bunch of others offer it.
