Marcus Aurelio Cut from the UFC

Five Ounces of Pain is reporting that lightweight fighter Marcus Aurelio has been let go by the UFC. Aurelio has suffered back to back unanimous decision losses to Tyson Griffin and Hermes Franca at UFC 86 and 90 respectively. The American Top Team product was 2-3 in the UFC.

Aurelio joins a list of high-profile fighters such as Fabricio Werdum, Paulo Filho, Jon Fitch and Jason Lambert that have been released from their contracts with Zuffa.

Neither Lambert nor Aurelio had enjoyed much success of late. I’m not particularly sorry to see them go.
