Oh Snap! I’ve turned 2K into 2.108K.

I’m quitting my job on monday to become a professional gambler.

Oh, that’s pretty cool that you’re keeping the totals. I was expecting that they all got reset to $0. Good work, and thanks for the fun game!

Very nice.

Would anyone be opposed to having another betting game, or is one enough?

Thanks! Nice work, definitely a lot of fun.

Only 25% have managed to avoid losing money. Interesting.

I am infinity percent better than last time

Because I’m not at zero. But hey, top ten for the event – I’ll fuckin take it!

I wish I could figure out this betting stuff. I’ve played before with Monopoly money and lost every time – last night, I decided just to watch for fun and picked 8/9 right (I picked Dos Anjos over Stephens). I know how the system works, but I suck at it. How do you guys know how much to bet on whom? I have college debts to pay!

I feel smug. On top of getting all four of my picks right, I was within 40 seconds of the main event time. Hooray for me!

I finally quit lurking and registered for BloodyElbow so that I could play the game. It was damn fun and I wish I had signed up earlier. Will this game be played during the Fight for the Troops? Thanks

Here's the details to my purposed betting game.

Sorry it took so long, I was out all day. Anyways this game is pretty straight forward. It’s point based and has nothing to do with a betting line.

RULES
5 points are awarded for a correct pick (which fighter wins)
2 points are awarded for correctly predicting the fight’s outcome (TKO, submission, etc) 2 points are awarded for picking the fight’s ending round.
Correctly selecting the fight’s outcome(fighter, method of win) and the ending round will result in an addition 2 points

The fight which has the closest number of people picking each combatant as the winner is named the “hot bout”, thus you are rewarded for “seeing through the hype” to accurately know who will win a contested matchup. The “hot bout” for an event will have its point totals doubled.

When a fighter is picked by less than 20% of site members he is considered to be the “heavy underdog”. In the event you select a heavy underdog to win a fight, and they do in fact win their bout, your bold pick will be rewarded with an additional 2 points scored.

Here is an example of this betting game in action

Anyone interested?
Too complicated?

You should take this formula and start a site with it.
You could call it www.mmaplayground.com or something like that.

by Simco on Nov 16, 2008 11:33 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Hey....

Wasn’t my idea. As you can see I stole it from that board, who apparently stole it from mmaplayground. I didn’t make up the game.

I only wanted to bring that game over, thinking it originated from that board.
