UFC 91: WOW!
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that UFC 91 will be the best fight card of 2008. Half way through I thought I was gonna get charged more money -- and I would have paid.
Thomas vs. Brown
My pick for Fight of the Night. Looked like Brown was on his way to a tough loss and then, BAMM!
McLovin' vs. McCrory
McCrory had what looked like slightly better stand-up and then it went to the ground. Highlight Reel Shit! (my pick: submission of the night)
Maia vs. Quarry
Was there ever any doubt? Textbook shit.
Stephens vs. Dos Anjos
What can you say, all these fights were freakin' amazing. Dos Anjos just couldn't keep his own pace and Stephens capitalized. KO! (my pick: knock-out of the night)
Florian vs. Stephenson
How kind was that, to just choke him out in the first round -- no bloody drip, drip. Even the biggest BJ nut-huggers want to see it happen now. After he loses to GSP, he'll lose to Ken Flo -- you heard it here first!
Lesnar vs. Couture
"That's just a big son of a bitch, that's all there is to it!" -Randy 'the natural' Couture. Now, more than ever, I want some new weight classes. There are too many good match-ups we're going to miss because of this glaring error. Couture looked like dynamite and he still lost.
Riley vs. Gurgel
Gurgel might be a decent fighter, if he could just pull his head out of his ass and listen to his corner.
Robinson vs. Bocek?
That can't be right -- why is Alvin Robinson still fighting in the UFC? Oh... because he beat Gurgel once.
If these fights didn't do it for you, nothing will. This is as good or better than anything DREAM or WEC have done this year. I suspect we will have to wait a long time before we see another card like this one.

Best UFC card since 84
Not the best fight card of 2008 by a long shot though. Perhaps if more than 2 of the fights had any significance whatsoever. All that being said I don’t like Florian but that guy deserves all the praise in the world. Moved himself firmly into the top 10. 7 or 8 perhaps now?

I liked this card better then 84
When it was all said and done, this card had some exciting finishes.

The only downside, in my mind
to this card was that so few of the fights had immediate impact on the landscape of the various weight classes. 92 is ridiculous in this regard. But even with that caveat, this was still one of the most entertaining MMA cards I’ve seen in awhile.

I didn't come into this a huge MMA fan
very, very casual in fact but I will be following from now on. The only fight I didn’t watch and enjoy from start to finish was the last one aired. Great show…and I’m rooting for Lesnar to build on his small resume.

DREAM and WEC has had the best cards and most of the FOTYs this year, HANDS DOWN!

I have to agree with this.
The WEC had two shows in a row that were just awesome.
Dream also had two really great shows.

yeah...
Some DREAM & WEC cards were awesome but this one is right up there with them. Don’t forget there are title ramifications associated with this card. Ken-flo will be getting his fight now, I think very soon Maia will get a shot, and Hazelett can’t be too far away, Gonzaga looked like a beast and the HW division is a little light.

This card turned out to be pretty stupendous.

Based purely on entertainment factor
this is one of the best cards of the last few years. Combine the ‘dramatic’ elements such as title shot pictures and rivalries, and it does bring it down a notch or two. But you just can’t argue the entertainment value of this one.

Really?
Couture looked dynamite.
He stood up once, landed a few good punches, and one good knee. He looked anything but dynamite. You cant say that when the defending champ doesnt even get his opponent into trouble.

couture’s style, skill set, and technique has proven to be a success in the ufc. The other night I watched him implement all those things about as well as I have ever seen him in the past. However, it was not enough to beat a guy who belongs in a different weight class.
That's just a big son of a bitch -- that's all there is to it.
