Affliction January Show: MMA Only

The first offering from Affliction and Goldenboy Promotions in January will be a MMA only card:

Said Atencio, the partnership, which calls for quarterly events next year, is still a work in progress, though Golden Boy will heavily influence television and in-arena production.

It sounds like they had a big boxing main event a few days ago to put on top of a MMA undercard but it fell through. I think we'll be seeing Fedor/Arlovski on top, which is a fantastic main event.

Fedor v Arlovski will get my attention just like Fedor v Tim did. And maybe there will be a couple of other good fights. But this is the equivalent of singing and drinking at a funeral. Too fast, too much money spent, too soon. Keep selling them t-shirts, Tom.

Is UFC 93 free on Spike the same night?

I wonder how much wiggle room the UFC has for their booking in Ireland, my guess is that Spike will have a repeat broadcast of the Lesnar – Couture fight that will counter the Affliction PPV.

I would pay to see Fedor/Arlovski

I think Arlovski could give Fedor a run for his money. Arlovski has looked great in his last few and I think his training with Freddie Roach is putting him on another level right now.
