Patrick Cote: "I've never been rocked in my life. I've never been knocked out in my life. So maybe that's why I ain't scared to exchange with anyone in my weight class. I know I hit hard. I know I have a good chin."

Sounds familiar.
Isn’t that what the last guy said.

At least he didn’t say “We can beat him in the clinch”.

Cote is your friend (and everyone has one) that talks about how many dudes he’s knocked out until some soft-spoken, but confident guy, who never talks about how many people he’s flattened— puts his ass to sleep.
PS; Anderson Silva is the other guy.

I hope Cote pulls out the victory, when the fight was announced I wasn’t excited at all to watch another 1 minute destruction by Silva

They must have edited out the, “yet.”
The magical thing about Silva that makes people keep saying these idiot things might be that he doesn’t look all that dangerous. Chuck and Wandy look like angry, violent nutcases. Nobody would look at either of them and think, “Oh, that’s who I want to pick a fight with.”
But Anderson Silva doesn’t even look mean when he’s beating the shit out of somebody. And he sure as hell doesn’t know how to talk shit. Maybe it’s all part of a strategy: be the quiet unassuming guy and let people underestimate you.

What is Cote going to say trying to hype his title shot? “I think I am going to lose. I am going to go down in the first. He is going to hit me with the light switch” I feel for the guys facing Silva, he doesn’t have a lot of holes. That being said, Silva will feel good about standing with Cote and there is no reason for Cote to not feel good about that. Silva has such a big edge because he is a great well rounded fighter, but I would think he will have no problem standing with Cote so anything can happen. The odds are a little closer if you know they are going to stay up. I don’t know that, but Silva does want to be a boxer.

Compare and contrast with what Silva said about the fight. He admitted that Cote was a good fighter, said that he was training his heart out, and admitted that anything could happen in a fight.
Part of hyping the fight is doing it in a way that doesn’t leave you looking like an ass after the fact. People will be mocking Hendo’s “I’m the perfect match-up for Silva” comments for years. Patrick hasn’t quite crossed that line yet, but he should really be striving for Silva’s level of humility, IMHO.

Maybe if the UFC would quit making like KimboXC and paying guys to take dives against Anderson we’d see a good fight with him.

WOW. So Dan Henderson and Rich Franklin are what, cheaters? I think you should get Dan, Rich and Anderson together and a) let them know your thoughts on this matter and b) challenge Anderson to a fight. I think we’d all LOVE that.
