Quoting THE Petruzelli interview

If you haven't signed on Bloody Elbow in the last day then you might not have found a link to this interview that has the site on fire, if not here's the link.

It has Michael Rome demanding answers and a big reason Kid Nate is hoping EliteXC goes away very soon. I've just skimmed through it again and came to a not so interesting conclusion. I decided to listen to it one more time so that I can transcribe some of the interesting quotes that helped me come to my uninteresting conclusion.

For your Reading Pleasure Excerpts from THE Petruzelli interview:

The testoserone posturing starts at the beginning (1:00 mark), "Did you talk to your wife about it Seth? ah, No Why would I talk to her? *laughter* Seth! Seth! Seth! Seth!..."

He ends it by saying that they are "the very first interview which the had done" which Sherdog and MMARated at least have post fight video interviews up (17:55 mark).

The middle of the interview isn't much different. Here's some of the highlights you might not have come into contact about.

"Can you tell us how much you made?, Ah well yah, they made (paid) me in the 6 figure range, which was nice. Which was a huge jump in payday." EliteXC reported $50,000 to Florida Athletic Commission.

"I know then (before the fight) that I had him beat." (about 5:15 mark) Before you get riled up listen to the interview. It's probably not what you think.

"That's the only thing that I only half way remember is running around and screaming for like 15 minutes."(about 6:05 mark) Anybody really time his running around? Was it more than 5 minutes Not to mention that he's pretty forgetful since he just described the fight negotiations leading up to the fight.

"Do you think he (Kimbo) will take the rematch? No, I no he won't take it..." (7:20 mark)

"Did the people from the organization have a quote, unquote conversation with you afterwords....I tried to have a talk with them and they were all in the bar drinking their asses off..." (7:55 mark)

THE comments (10:00 to 10:55)

"I only got on the internet once and I *illegible* and was like, oh my god..." (11:32 mark) Anybody know what he mumbled?

Said about Seth: "You had a 30 pound weight disavantage with Kimbo. You stepped up and beat a champion." (13:42 mark) Champion??? Seth doesn't correct him.

"Is he a black guy? Yes! Good our records are good against blacks, your 1-0 and I'm 5-0" (14:33 Mark) He's a racest that beat up black Santa Claus. NAACP better start investigating MMA, EliteXC, Florida's election ballots, oops I mean Atheletic Commission , because the're racist, Rashad Evans agrees.

"What was the party like last night? You had a party *interupted* You know what's funny I'm looking right now *laughs* at a bucket, a bucket of puke... I'm literally looking a half full bucket of my own puke" (17:22 mark)

In conclusion, this interview is like 99% of the bull shit sessions I have with my boys, Bullshit. Enough with the conspiracy theories!

Please also disect the Bryan Alverez quote:

and while your at it also the Meltzer quote:

So you still think Seth was lying in his original statement?

Yes

These guys haven’t added anything new.

mmalogic, I’m not saying it couldn’t happen and it didn’t happen, but one hung-over emotional source and a million internet unconfirmed sources aren’t going change my mind.

In any competition there are cheaters. Whether they are investment bankers, NBA refs, baseball sluggers, or Promoters. I have no love for the Jared Shaw or EliteXC, and I’m almost positive that they have taken many questionable short-cuts to get where they are, but I want more evidence not opinions. How anti-American of me!

Show me the money and/or give me name(s) (not opinionated “reporters” names please)!

Who didn’t hear that Ken Shamrock was going to stand up in the fight? He’s a dinosaur that has done so in how many of his last fights? Who thought Ken was bringing some new never seen before submission hold to this fight? Guess what here’s the kicker, A super secret source told me that Ken Shamrock and all the other fighters on the EliteXC card were going to be professionals so I made the big jump that they were going to get PAID. That my friend is a natyong keyboard warrior exclusive.

your dissection makes no sense…

Meltzer didn’t hear “ken shamrock was going to stand”, he heard “Ken Shamrock was being PAID to stand”. Big difference.

Natyong “the keyboard warrior” is a big difference from Meltzer who is a respected reporter who’s news is cited in almost every mma blog and news site.

and your reasoning makes no sense…

I think your confusing a “verdict” with an “investigation”. Nobody is asking for a verdict based on this… people are asking for an investigation.
