Almeida 10X better than Silva on the ground? I hope he realizes that BJJ and then BJJ with strikes are very different.

Must be taking a lot of naps

I’m mostly kidding…I hope Cote really does stand and trade…two guys with bricks for heads should make a striking match fun to watch…I hope Cote’s chin is as strong as he thinks it is and it doesn’t turn into a Silva/Leben-esque fight where Cote doesn’t go out, but gets overwhelmed and stopped within a minute. I’d love to see Silva really be able to throw down for a few rounds before a finish.

Glad to see Cote training properly for a championship fight…

Doesn't every fighter train

harder than the fight is going to be anyway? Unless he has some magic potion I suspect that any training he did longer than about 1 1/2 minutes will be harder than the fight.

Not that simple

Unless your training includes a massive adrenaline rush and the fear of another man trying to beat you senseless for a full 5 min. training is not as hard as a fight. I hear a lot of fighters say that they train so hard that the fight should be a breeze but it is just not that simple. You would be surprised how exhausting it is to be in a real fight for more than 2 min.. You can’t really train for how your psyche and body will react to adrenaline and the constant srtuggle to overcome an opponents relentless pursuit of your demise.

I realize that,

my point was every single fighter says that they have trained way harder than the fight is going to be.

How would Cote know? Did he even think about going to the ground with Almeida?

Of course, i agree with him, but oh well, lol.

He did alright because he just stood up anytime it went to the ground. It’s not like he was outgrappling him.
