Jason "Mayhem" Miller Retires?

Fronted by Luke Thomas.
MMAmania.com has a piece up announcing the retirement of Jason "Mayhem" Miller. It seems like he just doesn't have that desire to fight again. Here's a quick quote from the original "Mayhem Monkey" himself regarding the retirement:
"I got plenty of money. I don’t even care. I just do it for fun. I love fighting, but I’m just doing it for fun. I don’t feel like doing it right now, so I’m not going to do it. There’s no need. There’s no need for me to fight, so I’m just happy to have lived such a fun career inside of MMA, so if it ends now, it was fun."
He also points out that he won't be completely gonne from the MMA scene:
"Oh, I will be in the MMA world. I can’t really escape this land of tacky skull tee shirts and [censored] with bad tattoos. I can’t get out of here that easily, but with that being said … I don’t know, I don’t need to fight."
This sucks. Not only was he a good fighter, but he's somebody you could always count on to say something to make you laugh. I hope it's more of a retirement like Paul Daley and we get to see Mayhem back again.
UPDATE: CagePotato.com has the unedited version of Mayhems Comments..
Oh, I will be in the MMA world. I can’t really escape this land of tacky skull T-shirts and spics with bad tattoos. I can’t get out of here that easily, but with that being said, I don’t need to fight…
UPDATE2: Fighthype (the original source of the interview) has posted this correction:
PC: How will the MMA world survive without you and these interviews?
JM: Oh, I will be in the MMA world. I can't really escape this land of tacky skull T-shirts and chicks [Editor's note: The word "chicks" was originally mistakenly heard to be "spics" due to background noise] with bad tattoos.

Q: What does it mean when an athlete says 'it's not about the money?'
A: It’s about the money.
See: Randy Couture.

I've always found it odd..
that guys like Brock Lesnar get shit on for poor sportsmanship for antics within a fight…but guys like Jason Miller can do things like shit all over a kid just trying to get an interview and everyone falls all over themselves about his wonderfully funny “personality.”

I know...
that isn’t really relevant to the above story…but it’s always the first thing that jumps to mind when I think of the guy.

Never..
seen that before. That’s pretty shitty. If he didn’t wanna do it he shouldn’t have.

Exactly...
it’s not like the kid was a member of the media elite who had it coming. He was just a guy looking for an interview. In my eyes that is WAY worse than Lesnar acting a fool in the heat of a fight.

I agree
it’s one thing to talk shit to another fighter, but when you basically shit on a fan like that, what is it saying to your other fans?

For those who don't feel like clicking through...
“Oh, I will be in the MMA world. I can’t really escape this land of tacky skull tee shirts and [censored] with bad tattoos. I can’t get out of here that easily, but with that being said … I don’t know, I don’t need to fight.”
Really read:
“Oh, I will be in the MMA world. I can’t really escape this land of tacky skull tee shirts and spics with bad tattoos. I can’t get out of here that easily, but with that being said … I don’t know, I don’t need to fight.”
Props to cage potato for not letting it slide with a [censored] and taking him to task in their article afterward.

100% AGREE
Its a double standard. He dances to the ring tossing money with dancers and had someone dared do that in the UFC the internets would implode with people crying.

B.S.
Please don’t go accusing Mayhem of sexism now that he’s been exonerated of being a racist.

[CENSORED]
Oh, the perils of a noisy room. I was wondering what had been said that was censored (mofos?). Then it gets revealed to be a racial slur, and poor Mayhem is briefly pilloried before it’s revealed that what he actually said was CHICKS!
This is where a follow up question, or factchecking with the source, would have saved everyone involved a lot of embarassment (not to mention potential lawsuits). I hope Mayhem is forgiving about this—I know I wouldn’t be if I were him.
