Quote of the Day 2: Don Frye on Dana White

"For some reason (UFC President) Dana White doesn't like me, and I don't care enough to find out why. So he can go pound sand up his ass as far as I'm concerned.

I'm a whore. It's all about the money. I'll fight for anybody but the UFC."

Why the hell would the UFC want him? That guy has a good career headlining small regional shows…not UFC.

Good attitude! I like it. I need a healthy dose of “I don’t give a damn”. Makes life easier. One less jerk to worry about.

Don Frye is an absolute stud. He is a all man.

All though his upper-level thoughts may not be all too sophisticated, he has some good things to offer, aside from fighting.

A whore with standards, that’s refreshing.

frye

was he drunk again, like when he got his ass kicked in that hotel lobby. i would bet the house that if dana called don and asked him to come back and put him in the hof, don would piss his pants with excitement. peopl like him, lindland, barnett, and the shamrocks always talk shit about the ufc and say that they would never come back only b/c they know they wont ever be ALLOWED to come back. they try to portray themselves as martyrs, but i aint buing it.

Are you braindead? He WON UFC 8 and Ultimate Ultimate 96. Good small regional show. And the fights over in PRIDE too. Definately regional.

Those UFC shows were a very long time ago and his last win in PRIDE was in 2002. Since that last fight he has fought 12 times winning 4. His relevance is long gone in terms of competition.Perhaps you don’t realize it but MMA has changed a lot in that time.

Fun guy…great personality but his time has passed.

So what's he saying?

Okay he’s a whore. Cool.
It’s all about the money. So he fights to get paid, check.
I’ll fight for anybody, but the UFC, so I’m unsure what he’s saying here. Is he saying I’ll be a whore for anybody, but the UFC or is he saying the UFC doesn’t pay fighters? Or something else entirely?

I only care cause he has a really cool mustache.

Maybe he meant to say he wasn’t a whore and that it wasn’t all about money.

by Richard Wade on Oct 2, 2008 10:56 PM EDT up reply actions

I think he’s just talking. I seriously doubt he would turn down a UFC contract. Dudes just getting his name out there again and obviously it has worked. Best of luck to him…hope he does a legends fight somewhere.

Nope, he called himself a whore. I’ve heard him say it before. Don Frye is the balls (that’s a huge compliment).

“It’s all about the money. I’ll fight for anybody but the UFC.”

But if he’s refusing to fight for one organization regardless of money, then it can’t be all about the money…

UFC fighters are scared of Don

Don is a no joke type of fighter. The UFC doesn’t want to hurt one of their name brand fighters with the likes of Fyre. With that sad I think Frye would draw fans and PPV buys with his name alone.

Kinda funny

this quote was actually taken from his tagg radio appearance last week. I love how all the sudden its an MMajunkie interview. I know people don’t like trigg but its crazy how no one gives him any credit.
As far as Frye goes, I am a diehard fan for life. The guy is a straight shooter and a helluva fighter in his hayday. I wish him all the best.

Trigg is the best source for fake information on the internet. “Fedor signs a 3 fight deal with the UFC, 3 million per fight”, remember that gem? There was a few week where the big news everyday came out of TAGG radio and it was all crap. Not saying they don’t have some decent content, but they lost a lot of cred and I am not fond of Mr. Trigg.
