Shamrock vs Shamrock - Signed
Fronted by Kid Nate. According to an article on ESPN.com, the fight is signed and the particulars are being sorted out.
"We've both signed a contract to fight each other," younger brother Frank Shamrock told ESPN.com. "Ken is down with it. We talked about it two years ago, and we've agreed materially to fight."
"Will the fight happen? Absolutely," Ken Shamrock told ESPN.com. "He's got a buttkicking coming to him. Everything I've learned, everything I have bottled up in me, is going to come out on him. I've still got love for Frank, but I'm angry at him."
It will most likely be under the EliteXC banner, probably some time in April of next year.

Let me be the first to say “meh”.
I think the pre-fight back-and-forth will be more exciting than the actual fight.

Will an EliteXC banner exist next April?

Anyone else think this fight is just more of EliteXC desperately looking for ‘super fights’ but horribly missing the mark each time?

we- todd- id
I’d rather watch Junie get drunk, puke up, slip and bust his ass in it, get up and puke again.
This fight makes no sense. Ken is finished as a fighter and Frank is on top of his game. What a waste of time…

This would be a good fight to be on the undercard of. You never know when you will get an chance to be the main fight.

This fight is AWESOME
I’ve been watching MMA for a long time, and while this might not be the most competitive or meaningful matchup, its going to be entertaining. Frank is going to surely dominate but will keep Ken strung along for fun and will do tons of taunting and showboating. Also, after all this crap I think all of us want to see Ken get beat up by his little brother a little so he will just retire already.

Lets not forget the very rare brother on brother fighting which if you grew up in a big family you know is always fun.

Sorry mate but I’m into the SPORT of MMA not the 3 ringed circus of MMA.

Your obviously
are not from a big family. You would have a better appreciation of sibling rivalries if you’ve ever been a part of one yourself. It won’t be competitive at all, yet I can’t help but find myself strangely compelled to watch.
Also, 9 out of 10 times I hate freak show lop sided matchups. But Ken is a tool who brings it on himself, so I say let him eat fist.

Bob Shamrock took in hundreds of troubled boys at his Shamrock ranch facility, this is a lot different than “a big family” these two are only brother’s in the sense that they both took the Shamrock name as adults to honor the man who took them in as teenage hoodlums. The real relationship that led to the rivalry is that Ken was Frank’s original shoot fighting trainer, this is more of a mentor vs student fight than brother vs brother.

This fight would have been great 10 years ago when they were both able to really move around.
Whatever. Should be interesting I guess.
I don’t see how Ken wins this fight though. He’s looked really awful his last few fights while Frank has looked good in a few of them at least.

The press conference should be entertaining. Probably way more so than the actual fight.

meh.........
EXC won’t be around
this fight should have happened to help fire up the IFL in the beginning.

I agree with others that while this won’t be very competitive, watching Frank clown on Ken will be fun.
Any idea what weight this will be at? Seems like a catchweight of 190 or 195 makes the most sense.

Probably 200…I don’t know if Ken can cut all the way to 190.

Maybe Ken will cut himself again, and Renzo Gracie can step in. That’s the Frank Shamrock match (re-match) that I want to see. But alas, EXC wouldn’t want to put Frank in danger on the ground again. The interesting aspect of this story is that this family feud scrap is supposed to come off in April under the EXC banner. I would have to think that CBS is going to have to pay the Shamrocks a hell of a lot of money, or they’re going to have to try this on PPV. I’m not paying for this match. Frank/Renzo, that’s something I would pay for.

i don’t see this fight as anything more than additional fodder for the PTI’s of the world, to claim mma is not a legitimate sport. sure, plenty of people are familiar with the shamrocks, but to the casual fan, and the general public… two BROTHERS fighting each other? whether they’re blood relatives or not, it’s not going to sit well with alot of people.
i have zero interest in this fight.

As a precursor to this fight, I punched my brother in the gut last night.
Unfortunately for him, he was asleep at the time.

Maybe Ken will cut himself and Kimbo will beg to fight but instead they’ll let some masked no named part time fighter go against Frank..The masked man starts to beat Franks ass….but just before Frank gives up….Ken comes in from the locker room to interfere in the match…. Ken distracts the ref and Frank pops the masked man in the face with a roll of quarters….. Frank then takes off his mask only to find out.. it is Seth Petruzelli. HAHA sorry I went all WWE .
