EliteXC Under Investigation

It seems as if angered MMA fans are getting what they want, an investigation into the Kimbo Slice/ Seth Petruzelli fight. Since Petruzelli dispatched Kimbo Slice last Saturday night in Sunrise Florida a lot of information has come out that has seemed to damn EliteXC. petruzelli stated that he was told to keep the fight standing and that he would be compensated if he did so. EliteXC and Petruzelli have since nixed those comments and tried to explain themselves, but unfortunately for them these comments were not swept under the rug as EliteXC hoped they would be. Even further damning were the comments made by former front man of EliteXC Gary Shaw. "I wouldn't hesitant to go to a fighter and say, 'We're looking for a stand-up fight.' You're not asking him to throw a fight. You're talking about a fan-friendly fight, not about protecting Kimbo."

Now its being reported by ESPN.com that the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulationhave begun a preliminary investigation into the so called 'StandGate'.

Jeremy Lappen remains adiment that no wrong doing or fight influencing took place. "We didn't try to influence the fight, and Seth said we didn't try to influence the fight. So there isn't a story," Lappen said. "If we are being hurt image-wise then it is extremely unfortunate because nothing happened." Even though Lappen is sticking to the story that nothing wrong took place it is pretty hard to believe since you have Gary Shaw saying that he's tried to influence fights in the past to make things 'fan friendly'.

Nice. One thing though...

Try to use links and block quotes in your fanposts. I’d have promoted this to the front page rather than written my own little thing on it, but I didn’t want to go in and edit your post to make it meet our standard formatting. There are buttons on the fan post creation screen that make entering hyperlinks and turning text into block quotes easy.

Just so you know why I had to double post my own take on this on the front page.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the tip. I’ll make sure to format my fanposts properly next time. I sorta rushed through this post just to get it out as soon as possible.

BTW I love the idea of these fanposts.
