I'm listening to Ken Shamrock being interviewed by Jim Rome on the radio right now.

Highlights:

Rome asks him where Slice fits in the landscape.  Shamrock says he probably should be somewhere in the middle -- he's not deserving of the credit he's getting right now.  But he doesn't resent Slice getting the credit he is.  He says the guy is taking the opportunities he gets and making the most of them, so congratulations to him -- he could be a guy who doesn't take advantage and starts peddling drugs or something.

Shamrock says Slice's drawing of attention and viewers is good for the sport, regardless of whether Slice is a good representative or not. 

Shamrock views himself as a guy being put in there as an opponent who gives some credibility to Slice if he wins and doesn't destroy his image if he loses.

Shamrock says his confidence is sky-high and he is absolutely completely healthy.  He has no excuses and plans to go in and win this fight. 

"If he sticks his chin out there, I'll knock it off.  If he sticks his leg out there, I'll take it and break it off."  Rome asks if Slice sticks his chin out, will Shamrock shave it?  "Absolutely ... straight razor."

Conditioning is the most important part of the sport.

Wants to fight Frank.  Thinks that fight is a long time coming.  Doesn't hate Frank, but thinks what better way to settle it than getting in the cage together.  He gives some of the background of the dispute between the two.

Rome ends by asking about exposure for young kids to mma -- watching and training.  Shamrock says training with grappling and boxing is fine around age 10, but actually getting in and "fighting" mma shouldn't happen before 17 or so.

I have to admit, I'm surprisingly excited about the EXC card tomorrow Saturday night.  I've never been a bigger Shamrock fan than I am right now, Gina will be there, Arlovski.  Free.  Wow.
