PPV Comparison
Adam Swift has a great story up on the UFC's PPV business in 2007 at MMA Payout.
The UFC had a lot go wrong for it this year in terms of buyrates. They expected to be able to do Couture/Cro Cop and Couture/Fedor, both of which probably would have done great numbers. Hughes was out all year (their own fault), GSP went down in a shocking upset, etc. Despite this, they did very solid numbers on PPV. With one key exception, they were even or better on pretty much every show. That exception was Tito Ortiz. The only comparisons that really stand out are the July and December ones, which did massive buyrates for Ortiz/Shamrock and Ortiz/Liddell, two fights that were mocked online but drew huge casual fan interest.
