Kimbo Slice vs. Tank Abbott - Updated Betting Odds

On the 21st I reported the early betting odds for Kimbo vs. Tank. Both Luke and myself agreed that the odds, which at that time had Kimbo as a -350 favorite and Tank as a +275 dog, were quite skewed.

They continue to trend toward the absurd:

Kimbo Slice -450
Tank Abbott +300

I'll say it again...either of these guys could knock the other out with a single shot. Tank has more experience and is still very dangerous for the first couple minutes of a fight. Kimbo should be the favorite, but at these odds it's hard to not want to put some money on Tank.

Wow, +300 for Tank. Even if I pick Kimbo to win, those odds are too good to pass up.

Right, I'm picking Kimbo to win...but putting money on Tank.

I find it curious that people have to have been throwing money at Kimbo at -350 quite a bit to have the odds sway an additional -100.

Tank's 1-7 in his last 8 fights with his only win over another journeyman tough guy. Betting Kimbo at an 78% breakeven rate sounds about right to me. I think the efficient line is somewhere between -450 and -500.
