Misaki/Akiyama = No Contest

Stay connected for news and updates

Following a protest launched by Yoshihiro Akiyama's camp his bout with Kazuo Misaki has been ruled a no contest.  Akiyama was knocked out by a knee to the face as he was attempting to get back to his feet.  Yarennoka officials ruled that Yoshihiro was in a four point position at the time of the knee which is an illegal attack according to Yarennoka rules.

After hearing this news I rewatched the fight for the fifth time and I've got to agree with the decision.  The fight still remains a blast to watch, so the fans still win.  And hey, we probably get a rematch now.
