Hats Off to the MMA Blogosphere

For continuously scooping the MMA media with respect to scheduled bouts, particularly the big boys like Yahoo, CBS or NBC (although they generally don't cover news this far down in the weeds). MMAMania scored the Fitch vs. Gono scoop for UFC 82 and Sam Caplan has, as usual, been on a tear with breaking news (see here, here, here, and here). Of course, other sites do this as well. This list is certainly not exhaustive.

I've said it once and I'll say it again: all you need are Sherdog, The Fight Network and a few MMA blogs to get all of your MMA content filtered to you appropriately. The MSM will always have the edge in access so long as they have the dollars and full time staff to snuff out the stories. But they are taking note of the MMA blogosphere and how it's changing the news delivery game. Their monopoly is over and they can't stand it. We are now the daily destinations. They are the once-in-a-while distractions. Believe it.
