Shinya Aoki Will Fight At Yarrenoka

According to The Fight Network, a last-minute replacement has been found for the Japanese guard player. To wit:

Japanese submission specialist Shinya Aoki will meet South Korean Bukyung Jung, a late injury replacement, at "Yarennoka! New Year's Eve! 2007" on Monday at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama Japan. Officials organizing the event confirmed the bout on the "Yarennoka!" Web site.

Jung replaces the American Top Team's Gesias "JZ" Calvancante (14-1-1). A two-time winner of the K-1 HERO'S Lightweight Grand Prix, Calvancante was reportedly recovering from both nose and knee surgeries and had been unable to train for the bout.

Hats off to the Japanese for feeding into the Korean vs. Japanese rivalry with a last second replacement. Another salutation to the Japanese for selecting a Korean fighter that is almost certifiably locked to get abused in Aoki's guard.
